Soda Power Plant Turbine Rebuild

This project included reverse engineering turbine components, new coolers, refurbishment of UGB, LGB, TGB, shaft, and coupling machining, new head cover studs, new coupling studs, bottom ring, head cover, operating ring refurbishment, field line boring, servomotor refurbishment, new seal rings, thrust assembly refurbishment and machining, new wicket gate bushings, and wicket gate refurbishment.

Upon initial disassembly and inspection, several components were discovered to be severely damaged or in an unsafe state for reuse. We performed technical review and design for refurbishment, which was completed without having to replace all components. We finished ahead of the modified schedule, the rebuild was completed with little rework, and we lowered unit vibrations to the original specification.
